πŸŽ‡ Happy 250th, America πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Two hundred fifty years of freedom β€” a gift we don't take lightly. We believe every liberty we celebrate today is first a gift from God, and a responsibility to steward well.

At Agape Do, we train the body but we're building something deeper: discipline, honor, and love for one another. That's the way of Agape Do β€” and it's worth celebrating on a day like today.

"Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." β€” 2 Corinthians 3:17

Grateful for this nation, this community, and the freedom to raise our children in faith.

To our Agape Do families: thank you. πŸ™

Every child who walks through our doors does so because a parent trusted us with something precious. We don't take that lightly.

If your child has been training with us and you've seen a difference β€” in their focus, their confidence, their character β€” we'd love your help spreading the word.

Here's how:

1️⃣ Share this post with a parent who'd love what we do
2️⃣ Leave us a Facebook review
3️⃣ Each student who brings a new registered member will receive a new gi (uniform) - and the friends who join you have their first week free!

The Agape Do family is growing. Help us bring more Lowcountry kids into the dojo. ❀️πŸ₯‹

Remembering Miyamoto Musashi – The Legendary Samurai

Today marks the day that Miyamoto Musashi left this world in 1645.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest swordsmen in history, Musashi's name has become synonymous with discipline, strategy, and an unbreakable warrior spirit. Throughout his life, he is said to have fought over sixty duels and remained undefeated, building a legacy that continues to inspire martial artists, military strategists, entrepreneurs, and students of self-mastery around the world.

But Musashi was much more than a warrior.

He was a philosopher, artist, calligrapher, and deep thinker who understood that true victory begins in the mind long before a sword is ever drawn. His ability to read opponents, control the psychological battlefield, and adapt to any situation made him a master strategist far ahead of his time.

His classic work, The Book of Five Rings, remains one of the most influential books ever written on strategy. Though written centuries ago, its lessons on preparation, adaptability, timing, focus, and overcoming obstacles are just as relevant today as they were in feudal Japan.

What makes Musashi's story so fascinating is not merely that he won battles, but how he won them. He often disrupted his opponents' expectations, used unconventional tactics, and understood the importance of controlling both the physical and mental dimensions of conflict. He knew that the strongest weapon a warrior possesses is not the sword in his hand, but the mind behind it.

His life reminds us that mastery is a lifelong journey. Through relentless practice, self-discipline, and continuous learning, Musashi transformed himself into a legend whose influence has endured for nearly four centuries.

Today, we remember not only a swordsman, but a man who dedicated his life to the pursuit of excellence.

"Perception is strong and sight weak. In strategy, it is important to see distant things as if they were close and to take a distanced view of close things." β€” Miyamoto Musashi

Rest in peace, Miyamoto Musashi. Your teachings, wisdom, and warrior spirit continue to inspire generations. β€οΈπŸ™πŸ»

There's something beautiful about repetition. πŸ₯‹

In Shotokan karate, we drill the same techniques hundreds, if not thousands, of times. Not because we haven't learned them yet, but because mastery lives in the details.

Each repetition teaches a child something they can't learn from a screen: that showing up, doing the work, and doing it right, over and over, is how you grow.

This teaches resilience, patience, and humility.

Our sempai and sensei work alongside Shihan Beets to make sure every child gets the individual attention they need to improve and succeed.

Come see it for yourself. First week is free.
