Congratulations to the Lady Redskins volleyball team who swept the Maroa-Forsyth Trojans at all levels this evening! They played hard and were supported by a tremendous student section! Way to go ladies!

SEASON OPENING SWEEP

Sullivan Volleyball opened the season tonight with wins from both JV and Varsity over the Meridian Hawks.

JV WINS 2–0
25–18 | 25–14

JV had a balanced offensive night, led by Avery Florey with 6 kills. Grace and Lyla Wright each added 4, while Emma M. and Tenley Campbell finished with 3 each.

Emma Drake led the offense with 12 assists, followed by Kiley with 10. Avery and Lyla each recorded a scoring block, while Kiley and Emma M. added aces from the service line.

VARSITY WINS 2–0
25–18 | 25–22

Piper Conlin led the varsity attack with 7 kills, followed by Karson Robinson with 6. Elin Watkins added 4 kills, while Kenzie and Lyla each finished with 3.

At the net, Lillian led with 2 scoring blocks, while Lillian, Piper, Kenzie and Elin consistently got touches and disrupted the Meridian offense throughout the night.

Emme Jiannoni led with 8 assists, with Avery Renfro adding 7.

Serve receive was led by Elin Watkins, Mya Dyer and Madeline Anderson, all finishing at 72% positive or better.

A great start to the season for Sullivan Volleyball — two teams, four sets and two wins.

Our students, at the elementary school, had a special visit from the Moultrie County First Responders today. The students were gifted a cup and ruler, and each classroom was gifted a large box of school supplies, recess playground balls and a large box of Kleenex. What an amazing donation to get the year started!! Thank you First Responders!!

These students received "Character Shout Outs" last week for displaying the August character trait of Kindness. From cleaning up trash in the cafeteria, to helping a friend who was stung by a bee on the playground, to sharing your first place "candy prize" with the student in 2nd place, to helping a teacher put away chairs before leaving the classroom...our students are showing Kindness in many ways and we wish to celebrate!!

JH XC Schedule Update (9/8): MS XC will no longer be competing in the originally scheduled meet at Charleston on 9/8. Team will now participate in an Invitational at Effingham Community Park (700 East Temple Ave) hosted by St. Anthony on 9/8 starting at 4 PM instead.
