Black River Local Schools will be partnering with surrounding fire districts and emergency response agencies on Saturday, August 15, 2026, to conduct a mock school bus crash drill at Black River Local Schools. This drill is being conducted to allow our school, fire, EMS, law enforcement, and other emergency personnel to practice and coordinate their response to a serious school bus incident.

Please do not be alarmed! During the drill, you may see multiple emergency vehicles traveling to and/or staged at Black River Local Schools, along with emergency personnel and equipment. There is no actual emergency taking place. This is a planned training exercise designed to help our community's first responders and school personnel be better prepared should a real emergency ever occur. We appreciate the community's understanding and support as we work together to keep our students, staff, and community safe.

Thank you to all of our local fire departments, EMS, law enforcement, and emergency responders for taking the time to participate in this important training. A special thank you to Spencer Fire Department for putting this important training exercise together and helping bring our local emergency agencies and school personnel together
