Next Wednesday, March 12th, Employ Prince George's and its partners are hosting the Prince George's County Federal Employee Career Transition & Resource Fair for federal employees who have been laid off and employees of federal contractors who have been laid off.

The event will be held at The Hotel at the University of Maryland at 10:00 AM EST. Parking is free, and HR representatives from municipalities, county agencies, state agencies, and private sector employers will be on-site recruiting to fill vacancies.

For this week, the week of October 7th, the Prince George’s County Office of Human Resources Management (OHRM) listed the vacancies below for Prince George’s County Government.

Join us tomorrow, Tuesday, October 8th, from 6pm – 8pm, at Employ Prince George's (1801 McCormick Drive, Suite 140, Largo, MD 20774) to talk about these openings at our Pathways to Government: Careers within Prince George’s County Government Information Session.

Employ Prince George's is hosting an event on Tuesday, October 8th, from 6pm - 8pm at the Employ Prince George's Headquarters for Prince George's County residents wanting employment with Prince George's County Government.

With the support of the Office of the Prince George's County Executive, Employ Prince George's and Prince George's County Office of Human Resources Management (OHRM) have partnered to operate Pathways to Government. Pathways to Government helps Prince George's County residents identify and apply for employment with Prince George's County Government. Inspiring Moments at STEM Fusion: A Pop-Up Experience! 🌟

Meet Shamyah, a remarkable 20-year-old participant from our Youth Career Center! Shamyah has faced the challenges of being unhoused and had never been exposed to technology skills before. 🛠️

In a heartwarming turn of events, Shamyah not only completed the task, but was the FIRST to finish building her Bluetooth speaker kit! 🎉 Watch the incredible moment as NFL Hall of Famer, Darrell Green, congratulates Shamyah on her achievement. 💙 Shamyah's surprise and joy remind us that with determination and the right support, anyone can achieve career success in the world of technology!

Thank you Mr. Green for being so present and engaged with our participants for this special event! These are the types of empowering opportunities that are taking place here at the Youth Career Center!

What’s one of the many benefits of participating in programs offered through the Youth Career Center?

Let’s look at Ms. Gholston, who is currently participating in our Work Experience program. We partnered with Jumpin Jam Blast where she is working as a Design Assistant to allow for gaining some insight into the clothing and fashion business. She has been learning everyday operating procedures as it relates to owning a business, which has been a dream of hers. She currently has her own clothing line, 777 Collections, and hopes to use this experience to grow her own brand.

If you aren’t visiting the Youth Center, you’re missing out! We had our second with TD Banks on the topic of and boy was it a doozy! Our participants learned Banking 101 which included information on Review, Checking Accounts, as well as vs. !

Today, we honor the legacy of the great Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. His message of equality and justice continues to inspire us all. Dr. King's leadership and sacrifice in the Civil Rights Movement has changed the course of history, and his legacy will always be remembered.

Let us honor him by tirelessly continuing his work - ridding our country of racism, injustice, and hate and ensuring the equality of opportunity to all.

Our Career Coaches had a wonderful time today meeting all the attendees at the Quarterly Job & Resource Fair! With the many companies looking for local talent, we were able to discuss how the Youth Career Center can provide services to job-seekers such as resume writing, soft skills training, and more! If we didn’t get to meet you today, give us a call and come stop by our center!! We can help you get prepared for your job interview or help carve a path for you to find employment!!
