Calhoun-Gordon Retired Educators are proud to announce the 2026 recipients of the Scholarships given to area seniors.

Calhoun High School's recipient was Averie Rose Walraven. Bruce Potts presented her award.

Sonoraville High School's Scholarship recipient was Leah Moody. Trace Vaughn presented her award.

Gordon Central High School's Scholarship recipient was Keira Bryson. Her award was presented by Cynthia Lay.

Congratulations to these three young ladies who plan on pursuing a teaching career.

FYI, you can add your spouse and family members. All you need to do is register whoever you contact.
This is not closed to only Retired Educators.

Good Morning Calhoun Gordon County Retired Educators,

We discussed this opportunity when we visited Advent Health-Gordon.

Mandy has provided us with an AngioScreen date for our group.

AngioScreen is a cardiovascular screening that helps identify risk for heart disease and stroke through a quick, noninvasive set of tests, and it gives participants information they can review with their healthcare provider.

It can be especially helpful for people with risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, smoking, a family history of heart disease or stroke, being age 55 or older, obesity, and a sedentary lifestyle.

June 25th is available for a screening date if that date and we discussed using the Gordon County/Calhoun Library as the host location. This will allow morning folks to enjoy breakfast and later in the day to enjoy lunch.

AngioScreen is not covered by insurance. The cost is $85.00 and results are handed to you before you leave the truck. Their graphics/images are AWESOME!

We need a minimum of 25 folks to show interest.

Once we secure this number, details will be emailed to those who show interest.

Hello CGCREA,
I was out last week with some minor surgery so this email reminder is very late. My apologies.
We hope you can make it Wednesday for our LAST meeting for this year.
We did not have minutes from the Calhoun Aquatics Trip in April.
The financial report will be in a separate email and at the meeting.

Reminder:
We always pay our annual CCGREA dues at this last meeting so be sure to bring a check or cash to renew for the FY27 year.
I also attached the State Membership Form. If you use this form, GREA will simply add you to the 26-27 membership list since we met our membership goal for 2026.

Our May meeting is this Wednesday (May 13) at the Gordon County Chamber of Commerce. Meet and Greet at 10:30 am and the Meeting begins at 11 am.

AMBA will share information and we will have the Induction of Officers. Donations for Christmas in July will be accepted.
