From surviving to leading…
I took my leadership team from surviving to actually leading. And I didn’t hire a single new person to do it.
Same team. Same titles. Completely different center.
Here’s what changed.
âś… Trust
I stopped reacting to mistakes and started asking what happened first. The second my team believed I’d look at the whole picture instead of jumping to blame, they stopped hiding problems from me.
âś… Conflict
I made it safe to disagree with me in the room. Not comfortable. Safe. The meetings got harder before they got better, but the parking lot conversations disappeared.
âś… Commitment
I stopped accepting nods as agreement. If someone didn’t say it out loud in the meeting, I didn’t assume they were on board. Real commitment sounds different than polite silence.
âś… Accountability
I stopped letting things slide because the conversation felt uncomfortable. The moment I held one person accountable, the ones who’d been carrying the weight finally felt seen.
âś… Results
We got clear on what “done” actually looks like. Not busy. Not well-intentioned. Done. And we started talking about it out loud, every time.
None of this took new people. It took me deciding to lead differently.
Come lead with me. We lead differently here. Comment “Leader” if you’d like an invite to our upcoming chat on all things Childcare Leadership.
