Today’s steam activity was called “What melts in the sun”. Our students were shown different items, an ice cube, piece of chocolate, and a toy. They were asked to make a guess on if each item would melt or stay the same. We then set the items outside in the sun. After some time passed the students then went back outside with their teacher to check if their guesses were correct. This hands-on experiment encouraged observation, critical thinking, and early scientific inquiry as students explored how heat affects different materials.
