Congratulations to Saints Volleyball on a great start to the season! Varsity defeated St. Thomas More on Wednesday, and C Team earned their second win of the season at St. Thomas More after defeating St. Vincent de Paul on Monday. All three teams will play their first home games on Thursday, September 10, against St. Michael — C Team at 4:30 p.m., JV at 5:15 p.m., and Varsity at 6:15 p.m. Saints fans, let’s pack the gym and give our teams a great home-court welcome! Let’s Go, Saints! 🏐❤️💙

¡Uno, dos, tres… hasta diez! Our PK1 Saints are having fun learning and practicing their numbers in Spanish! At SLCS, a love for learning languages starts early! Early exposure to a second language helps students develop listening and communication skills, recognize new sounds and language patterns, build confidence, and develop an appreciation for other cultures. 🔢❤️💙

Spelling practice is even more fun outside! Our Saints in 1A took their learning outdoors and used sidewalk chalk to practice their spelling words in a creative and engaging way. Great job, 1A! ❤️💙✏️☀️

We are so grateful for Mrs. Gomez and Mrs. Riha and the leadership they bring to St. Laurence Catholic School each day! They recently joined fellow assistant principals from across the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston for a time of collaboration, connection, and professional growth.

Last week, our Assistant Principals gathered at the St. Dominic Chancery for a meeting with the Catholic Schools Office (CSO). It was a wonderful opportunity to receive new information, updates, and guidance as we prepare to welcome our students back for the start of a new school year.

We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with fellow school leaders. Together, we are excited and ready to begin another year of faith, learning, and growth! 🙏📖💙

Students in 3C brought their summer reading to life through creative book reports! Students reflected on the books they read, explored key story elements, and demonstrated their reading comprehension while strengthening their writing and presentation skills. A perfect way to build literacy skills and foster a love of reading! 📚📖❤️💙

My name is Jennifer Calabrese, and I am so excited to be part of the St. Laurence Catholic School community! My husband, Adam, and I have two young children. Our son is in Pre-K this year at St. Laurence, while our daughter will be attending WCP across the street. We are so excited to start the year together in the same place! God is so good! I first started attending St. Laurence Catholic Church in 2008 when I moved from California, where I grew up. Outside of the wonderful and many adventures of motherhood, you can find me baking, listening to a podcast, or doing some kind of craft! What I am most looking forward to this year is meeting my coworkers and the students. I am thoroughly excited to be a part of the St. Laurence Catholic School community! Go Saints! See you soon!
