Today, The Goddard School of Sugar Hill had the incredible honor of welcoming the Mayor of Sugar Hill as he proclaimed October 5th as Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day in the City of Sugar Hill! 💙🤍

He visited classrooms throughout our school, presenting our amazing teachers with certificates and taking time to personally thank them for the love, dedication, and care they pour into our children every single day.

Our teachers do so much more than teach—they nurture, inspire, encourage, and help lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning. We are so proud to have such an incredible team of educators shaping the next generation right here in Sugar Hill!

Kindergarten readiness can show up in everyday moments, not just big milestones. A few signals to notice:

1. They’re building confidence to try things independently. Examples: walking into a room first, asking for help, or giving something new a try.

2. They’re starting to recognize the letters in their name, even if they’re not reading just yet.

3. They’re showing care and responsibility at home. This could include things like helping pack a bag, feeding a pet, putting away toys, or getting through part of their routine with a little more ease.

Every child grows at their own pace - and readiness looks different for every family. Their preschool teachers can be a great partner in noticing strengths, celebrating progress, and helping you think through what comes next.
