❗COLLEGE NIGHT 2026 WAS ONE FOR THE RECORD BOOKS!

Students and families came together at Waubonsee’s Sugar Grove Campus to explore their futures, meet face-to-face with college representatives and learn about admissions, scholarships, academic programs and campus life. With colleges and universities representing 19 states – including 35 institutions from Illinois - visitors had plenty of possibilities to explore! From Alabama and Florida to Arizona and California, the lineup stretched across the country and included the United States Naval Academy.

Beyond connecting with colleges, visitors had the opportunity to tour our beautiful flagship campus and attend three college-planning workshops: Choosing a Major, Financial Aid: An Overview, and Helpful Advice for Choosing Your College!

🎨 View the new display in the Dickson Center Window Art Project Space by Chicago-based interdisciplinary artist Jaclyn Jacunski! She draws on notions of public life, private ownership, communal living, and social transformation as she explores how land, class, and collective life leave their marks in the physical world. Her practice includes printmaking, sculpture, and participatory installation.

❤️ 🖤 💛 WINNING MOMENTS FOR WAUBONSEE: Waubonsee Community College had a stellar showing at the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) District Conference this week.

🏆 RECOGNITION FOR EXCELLENCE: Waubonsee brought home THREE NCMPR District 3 Medallion Awards for Excellence in Marketing & Communications — TWO SILVER and ONE BRONZE!
🥈 Silver — WCC Student Experience Card
🥈 Silver — Marketing for WCC’s 2026 MLK Ceremony
🥉 Bronze — Waubonsee Foundation’s E-Report, Together We RISE

🌅 RISE 2030 ALSO TOOK CENTER STAGE: Dr. Toya Webb, Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff, led a standing-room-only session, “RISE 2030: How Branding Transformed a Strategic Plan into a Campus Movement.” Attendees were especially impressed to learn that more than 170 Waubonsee employees and students are actively engaged in the work, giving members of our college community a voice and a role in bringing our strategic plan to life.

🎉 AND THERE’S EVEN MORE TO CELEBRATE: Dr. Webb is President-Elect of the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations and will be installed as its national president when NCMPR comes to Chicago for the National Conference in March!

From national leadership and a standing-room-only presentation to having our work recognized by our professional peers, WAUBONSEE CONTINUES TO MAKE US PROUD!
