Sugar Grove Developmental Day School We are a 5 star center that is licensed for 44 children. Our children range from the ages of birth to 5 years old. Parents are a child's most important teachers.

Sugar Grove Developmental Day School works to provide a high quality, developmentally appropriate program for the children in our care. The staff encourages children to solve problems, ask questions, find answers, explore interesting materials, and develop curiosity. Our center provides a play oriented curriculum based on a philosophy where respect for the child, positive guidance, and the develop

ment of self-esteem are important values. The environment is arranged to be child-centered and to allow opportunities for children to choose among a variety of activities. Therefore, we work closely with parents and encourage them to participate in many aspects of our programs, including: holidays, birthdays, pot lucks, parent teacher conferences, fundraising events, and workshops. For the community, our goal is to actively participate in issues, which enhance support for children and families. This involvement shall be on a national, state, and local level. We work to create an environment that encourages and stimulates on-going professional growth and training for all our staff. We strive to provide a superior environment for child development students who participate in our school by modeling appropriate teaching and discipline strategies. Students assume an active role in the center and take on increased responsibility as they acquire appropriate skills and experience. Today we want to shine a special light on two teachers who make a difference in our school every single day—Ms. Jean Forrester and Ms. Sidney Kurtz.

Both of these ladies go above and beyond to create an environment where children feel loved, encouraged, and excited to learn. Whether it’s offering a comforting hug, celebrating small milestones, or guiding little ones through big emotions, their hearts truly show in everything they do.

They are the kind of teachers who leave a lasting impression—not just on the children in their classrooms, but on our entire school family. Their dedication, patience, and genuine care help make our center the special place that it is.
