Tonight, our newest Wildcats stepped through our doors, and we had SO much fun!

Students explored the building, met teachers and staff, made bookmarks and Shrinky D***s, laughed with new friends, and started getting comfortable in their new home.

But most importantly, they made CONNECTIONS.

Connections with classmates. Connections with staff. Connections to their new Forest Glen family.

We want every student to know: You belong here. You are known here. You matter here.

Calling All Future Wildcats

Our Blueprint for Success: 6th Grade Transition Program is almost here! Join us on Monday, August 10, from 4:00–6:00 PM for an exciting event designed to help our newest Wildcats feel confident and ready for middle school.

Students will tour the school, meet teachers and staff, practice using lockers and schedules, learn about clubs and athletics, and participate in fun STEM and team-building activities.

📍 Student drop-off begins at 3:45 PM
👨‍👩‍👧 Parent session begins at 5:30 PM in the auditorium.

We can't wait to welcome the Class of 2033 to the Forest Glen family!

🏫 Open House – Thursday, August 20 | 3:00–5:00 PM

Our Open House is the perfect opportunity to get acquainted with Forest Glen before the first day of school! Families will have the chance to connect with teachers, explore the building, and learn what to expect for an exciting school year.

Doors will open at 2:45 PM. We ask all families to begin in the auditorium for a brief welcome and introduction from our administrative team. Following the presentation, you'll be free to visit classrooms in any order to meet teachers, ask questions, and become familiar with your student's learning environment.

We look forward to welcoming our Wildcat families and kicking off an incredible year together! 🐾

🎶 Please join us in welcoming Dr. Edward Woodis to the Forest Glen Middle School family as our new Band & Chorus Director!

Dr. Woodis brings decades of experience in music education, including 25 years leading the outstanding band program at Nansemond River High School. His passion for music, commitment to students, and dedication to building strong school communities make him a wonderful addition to the Wildcat family.

💚🤍 Help Us Transform Our FGMS Staff Lounges! 🤍💚

At Forest Glen Middle School, our teachers and staff work hard every day to make a difference in the lives of our students. We would love to create comfortable, inviting spaces where they can relax, recharge, and connect during the school day.

We are currently seeking donations of gently used or new furniture and décor to help update our staff lounges. This year, we are creating two unique spaces:

Ladies' Lounge Theme: Boho Chic
Men's Lounge Theme: Rustic Mountain Retreat

We are looking for items such as:
🛋️ Couches and loveseats
🪑 Comfortable chairs and accent seating
☕ Coffee tables and end tables
📚 Bookshelves and storage pieces
💡 Lamps and lighting
🖼️ Wall décor, artwork, and decorative accents
🌿 Plants, baskets, rugs, and boho-inspired décor
🪵 Rustic wood décor, cabin-inspired pieces, and camp-themed accents

If you have items that would fit either of these themes and are in good condition, we would be incredibly grateful for your donation. Your generosity will help create spaces where our amazing staff can feel valued and appreciated throughout the year.
