🎓✨ From FGMS to Graduation: Lakeland High School Senior Walk ✨🎓

Today was one of those moments that reminds us exactly why we do what we do. Our halls at FGMS were filled with pride as Lakeland High School seniors returned in their caps and gowns for their Senior Walk—walking the same hallways where their journey first started.

Seeing familiar faces come back through our doors brought back so many memories. Most were once FGMS students we watched grow, learn, struggle, persevere, and discover who they are. Today, they returned as graduates, confident, accomplished, and ready for what’s next.

Our students and staff lined the halls cheering them on, and you could feel the pride in every clap, every smile, and every “you did it!” shouted down the hallway. There’s something powerful about watching former students come back as role models for the next generation sitting in our classrooms today.

Moments like this stay with you. They remind us that school is about relationships, growth, and community that lasts long after the final bell.

To our Lakeland seniors: we are so proud of you. You will always have a home here at FGMS, and we can’t wait to see the impact you make in the world.

Last night, we had the opportunity to celebrate an incredible year of FGMS Athletics at our Athletic Banquet! 💚🏅
The evening was a wonderful reminder that athletics are about so much more than wins and losses. We celebrated commitment, resilience, teamwork, leadership, and the relationships built throughout the season. Our student-athletes showed tremendous dedication all year long, and it was great to recognize their accomplishments alongside the coaches and families who support them every step of the way.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this year such a success. The energy, pride, and school spirit in the room truly reflected what makes FGMS special. We are so proud of all of our teams and look forward to another amazing year ahead!

Our field hockey team secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory to capture the Suffolk VA Public Schools Middle School Championship! What an incredible accomplishment and a true testament to their teamwork, determination, and resilience all season long.

Great job to both teams on an outstanding championship game and for representing your schools with pride and sportsmanship. We are so proud of our players, coaches, families, and supporters who helped make this season so special!

We had an incredible send-off parade for our Field Hockey Team as they head into the championship game today. The energy in the building was unmatched, hallways filled with students and staff cheering them on, families joining us in support, and a celebration that truly reflected the pride of our school community.

A huge shoutout to our band for setting the tone and bringing the excitement, and to our cheerleaders for leading the way with energy and spirit. Together, they helped create a moment our athletes will never forget.

Best of luck to our Field Hockey Team, finish strong and know your school is behind you every step of the way!

Our students pulled off an unforgettable surprise with a Secret Spirit Day, showing up in cozy pajamas, slippers, robes, and even sleep masks! The hallway felt more like a pajama party than a school morning, and the creativity did not disappoint.

While staff brought the energy earlier in the week with their own surprise Hawaiian-themed spirit day, our students made it clear, they were ready for a little friendly competition and may have just taken the spirit day crown this round!

It was a fun reminder of the joy, creativity, and school spirit that make our community so special. We can’t wait to see what gets dreamed up next!

The Forest Glen Middle School Sea, Air, and Land Teams represented FGMS proudly at Colonel Fred Cherry Middle School! 💪🚤✈️🚗

Our students showed incredible teamwork, resilience, and problem-solving throughout the competition—making adjustments, improving their vehicles, and never giving up.

🏅 Innovation Award for a creative air drop system completed in a single flight
