Monday, October 10, is Parent-Teacher Conference Day and an early release day for students. Conferences will be held virtually or by phone to allow parents to meet with teachers at multiple school locations at optional times. SPS will offer remediation and acceleration sessions for students through our SPS Saturday Academy. SPS teachers and staff will provide hands-on, interactive instruction and additional support based on recently taught content. Instruction will focus on reinforcing identified power skills within specific content areas' Standards of Learning.

Suffolk Public Schools will hold a virtual Family Life Education parent information night on April 21, 2022 at 6 PM. This session will cover the VDOE guidelines for family life, Suffolk Public Schools' guidelines and the role of the parent in her/her student's family life education.

Ms. Katherine Jones has shown her commitment and dedication to SPS in a tremendous way. She is 92 years young and walks to school everyday. She watches over the building on weekends and holidays. Ms. Jones has been with SPS Food and Nutrition Services for 4 years.

Residual snow and icy conditions on many of our secondary streets present hazardous road conditions for Suffolk Public Schools transportation. As a result, Monday, January 24, 2022 will be virtual learning day.
All extracurricular activities and events are canceled for tomorrow.
Due to potential inclement weather approaching our area that will create icy road conditions throughout the day, Suffolk Public Schools will be CLOSED on Friday, January 21, 2022.
This will be a traditional inclement weather day, and students and staff will not be expected to participate in virtual instruction. All extracurricular activities will be canceled for tomorrow and throughout the weekend, except for SPS Saturday Academy, which will remain virtual.
In observance of MLK Day, Suffolk Public Schools will be closed today.
As temperatures drop below freezing, Suffolk Public Schools will open on Tuesday, January 4 with a 2-hour delay for students and staff.
A two-hour delay means:
Bus pick-ups for all students will begin two hours later than normal pick-up times.
Breakfast will NOT be served. Lunch will be served.
Dismissal time will remain the same unless otherwise noted.
