BEFORE: September 2025 - This was an empty space
AFTER: September 2026 - a thriving garden!

What began as a blank patch of land has been transformed through planning, planting, watering, weeding, hard work, and teamwork.

Our students have had the opportunity to get their hands dirty, care for the land, and watch their work come to life at the Suffield Homestead Garden.

A year ago, this space was empty. Today, the space is growing and so are our students.

Great job to these students who helped transform the Suffield Homestead Garden

The SHS culinary classes had a fantastic visit to Drago’s Kitchen! Chef Drago gave students a behind-the-scenes tour of the kitchen, shared how his team implements ServSafe standards, and answered questions about his culinary career and experience as an entrepreneur.

Students also had the opportunity to try Chef Drago’s famous pancakes! Thank you to Chef Drago and his team for an unforgettable experience!

While the town and school district have invested in ongoing maintenance and repairs to the middle school, the facility's needs now involve major systems such as HVAC, roofing, accessibility, electrical infrastructure, and overall building layout, and require comprehensive planning and coordinated investment.

As planning has continued, three potential scenarios for the future of Suffield Middle School have been developed and presented to the community. Visit our website to learn more!

Suffield is evaluating the future of two important community facilities: Suffield Middle School and Fire Station 1.

Both buildings have been identified as priorities for significant infrastructure improvements to ensure they continue serving our students, families, residents, and first responders for decades to come.
