Suffield Academy’s Performing Arts program delivered a hilarious, high-energy production of Moon Over Buffalo. Set in 1953, the fast-paced comedy featured mistaken identities, slamming doors, and nonstop theatrical chaos. Through impeccable timing, teamwork, and fearless performances, the cast brought this classic farce to life and kept audiences laughing from start to finish.
The spring play, Moon Over Buffalo and this year’s musical, Be More Chill, were recently recognized at the 2026 Stephen Sondheim Awards and the Halo Awards.
Suffield earned three Sondheim nominations, including Best Musical for Be More Chill. Sean Atkins ’26 was nominated for Best Actor for his performance as Jeremy Heere, while Seamus Sullivan ’26, Lia Bazarian ’27, and Max Depleteau ’28 received recognition for Outstanding Stage Management.
At this year’s Halo Awards, Suffield received 15 nominations across acting, technical theater, choreography, and production categories, ultimately earning two wins: Best Stage Management for Be More Chill—awarded to Seamus Sullivan ’26, Lia Bazarian ’27, and Max Depleteau ’28—and Best Performance in a Leading Male Role in a Contemporary Play for Sean Atkins ’26 for his portrayal of George Hay in Moon Over Buffalo.
For the senior cast members, the productions also marked a final bow on the Suffield stage, featuring final performances from Sean Atkins ’26, Mari McCarthy ’26, Seamus Sullivan ’26, and Ezra Mendes ’26—students whose leadership and artistry helped define an exceptional season for Suffield Performing Arts.

As the Suffield Academy football team gears up for the 2026 season, the Tigers hosted the Connecticut Prep School Football Show Day on Holmes Field. The event brought more than 120 college coaches to campus, giving student-athletes valuable exposure and the opportunity to showcase their skills through competitive drills and position work. Coaches had the chance to observe the Tigers’ talent up close and connect with players following the event. Thank you to all the coaches who visited Suffield this May.
