is offered by the Center for Sustainable Urbanism, an education non-profit, whose programs are focused on the built environment from a holistic and sustainability perspective. the Center for Introduction to Architecture Overseas, is a three-week summer program geared toward high school students ages 16 and older to explore architecture, landscape architecture, and planning. With Rome as a living l

aboratory, students are immersed in a week-long exploration of the evolution of built form from antiquity to modern times. Students then spend two weeks at the Center, in Sant'Angelo in Pontano, working on a design project in an atelier environment. The students master freehand sketching, model-making and designing with Google SketchUp. At the completion of the project they present their efforts to the mayor of the village. Student work is documented for use in portfolios for college application. alums have been accepted at top schools including Yale, Columbia, RISD, Cooper Union, Pratt, Syracuse, UCLA, Cal Poly and Berkeley as well as schools in Europe and Latin America. We are proud of our alums who come from all over the USA and around the world including Japan, China, Taiwan, Mexico and Scotland. collaborates with universities in Italy including Rome's La Sapienza. Foreste urbane e parchi fluviali: così Roma si difende dal clima che cambia

Nel cuore del IX Municipio nasce una nuova foresta urbana: oltre 500 tra alberi e arbusti messi a dimora a Mezzocammino per offrire ombra, aria pulita e un freno alla cementificazione.

Ma non finisce qui: lungo il Tevere stanno prendendo forma cinque nuovi parchi d’affaccio, parte di un sistema verde e blu pensato per proteggere Roma dai cambiamenti climatici e restituire ai cittadini il contatto con il fiume.

🌱 Dal 2021 a oggi sono stati piantati quasi 30.000 nuovi alberi.
📚 È nata anche la Biblioteca degli Alberi e dei Fiori a Villa Pamphili, in collaborazione con la FAO.
🌍 Roma è oggi una delle città più verdi d’Europa, con oltre 394 mq di verde per abitante.
