Captain Michael Kennedy and rising sophomore Evan Nace hit the mats this weekend traveling up to the Canadian border with Leviathan Wrestling Academy for the annual 1000 Island Duals. Proud of the effort both wrestlers have building on their offseason training with matches with teams from NY, NJ, PA and VT. Great job fellas!

This Saturday at Natick HS, a great opportunity to get matches close to home. Don't wait until the last minute to register, these tournaments always sell out.

LS Wrestlers will be a Sudbury Farms today from 10AM -4PM selling raffle tickets. The annual Friends of LS Wrestling Raffle supports both the LSRHS and L-S Youth Wrestling programs.

Money raised will primarily fund the Annual Sam Forman Memorial Scholarship which has awarded over $32,000 to L-S graduates since its inception in 2009, plus tournament costs, L-S Youth Wrestling expenses, team apparel, misc. travel expenses, and gear for wrestlers unable to purchase on their own.

Prizes Include:
New England Revolution Ticket Package with Optum Club Access - Game TBD ($500 value)
Beats Studio 3 Wireless Headphones
Red Sox Tickets
Apple AirPods
Restaurant Gift Certificates
Plus more to come!

Results from D1 States from the weekend included the usual highs and lows. Huge congratulations to junior Lexi Figueroa who qualified for All States with a fouth place finish yesterday. Lexi becomes just the second LS girl to medal at States! Just missing the podium were Seniors Sibbi Syed and Olivia Mizell Share who lost tough matches in the blood round falling just short.
On Saturday, senior Captain Alex Beihagi saw his season come to an end but not before notching his 120th career win placing him 5th on the All Time list.

The Warriors left it all on the mat today at the D1CW Sectional Tournament. Although we were missing three starters, and a brutal first round which saw 4 LS Wrestlers draw the top seed, we hung in and had a terrific couple of rounds. Our overall inexperience eventually was our undoing, but none of the wrestlers went down without a fight.
Senior Captain punched his ticket to States reaching the finals before dropping a closely contested 4-2 match to place second.
Senior Jarnell Rattler and sophomore Kyle Rogers also reached the medal stand placing 6th.
With a starting lineup that featured four ninth graders, two sophomores and six juniors, the future looks bright, but success only comes as a result of hard work and dedication between now and next season.
Next Friday Beihagi will be joined by our girls trio of Olivia Mizell Share, Sibbi Syed and Lexi Figueroa in North Andover for the the D1 State and Girls D1 State Tournaments.

Tomorrow, 13 LS Wrestlers will head to Hopkinton HS looking to cement their legacy and qualify for States. Wrestling is scheduled to start at 9am.
