We love seeing the connections that make our Catholic school community so special!

This post is especially meaningful for Subiaco Academy as we welcome our new Head of School, Dan Smith ’88, a veteran Catholic school leader, and celebrate Ms. Theresa Hayward as she begins her new role as principal of St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Paris, just down the road from Subiaco.

Ms. Hayward is also part of the Subiaco family, with her son entering his third year at the Academy as a freshman. We’re excited to see these connections grow and to have our Catholic schools supporting one another in such a special way!

Congratulations, Ms. Hayward, and welcome home, Mr. Smith!

Three new principals have taken on new roles as school leaders. Two are principals for the first time, while the other is a seasoned principal being promoted.

Our first all-school Mass of the 2026–27 school year brought our Academy community together in prayer and set the tone for the year ahead.

Fr. Cassian Elkins celebrated Mass, with Deacon Roy Goetz assisting. Senior ushers Xavier Scanlon and Jude Post and lector Nico Schmitz helped lead us in the liturgy, with Mr. Mike Monahan ’85 serving as cantor.

We are especially grateful to welcome Mr. Beau Baldwin, organist and Director of Music at the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Little Rock, who will serve our school community throughout the year. We are fortunate to have him join our Subiaco family!

Fr. Cassian’s engaging homily brought our four pillars, Faith, Character, Scholarship and Brotherhood, into focus as we begin another year of formation at Subiaco.

Two of our Subiaco Trojans, Race Rogers and Jude Post, were honored to speak at a special banquet hosted by American Legion Post 121, which generously sponsored their participation in Arkansas Boys State this year.

The evening celebrated the Logan County students who attended Boys State and Girls State, and our young men represented Subiaco exceptionally well. From their appearance and preparation to the thoughtfulness of their presentations, Race and Jude made us proud.

Both spoke with genuine enthusiasm about how much they learned and how fascinating they found the experience. From the workings of our American system of government to the friendships they made along the way. Most of all, they expressed sincere gratitude for the opportunity and for the people who made their Boys State experience possible.

We are especially grateful to American Legion Post 121 and our local veterans for investing in these young people and giving them an experience they will carry with them for years to come.

It was a privilege to see our Trojans stand before this distinguished group and share what they learned. 🇺🇸

A special start to the 2026–27 school year!

Today our seniors received their Subiaco rings and celebrated our Opening Mass with family, faculty, and the Subiaco community.

The Subiaco senior ring has carried the same design for generations. Today, our seniors became part of that tradition and now share the bond represented by this ring.

As our Head of School reminded them during the ceremony, the ring represents the Faith, Character, Scholarship, and Brotherhood they have gained during their time at Subiaco. He also encouraged them to let their rings be a reminder of the kind of men they are called to be. Men of character and integrity, formed by their time at Subiaco and prepared to carry those values with them wherever they go.

We are proud of the Class of 2027 and grateful for the families, faculty, and monks who gathered to celebrate this important milestone with them.

Here’s to a wonderful year ahead! Go Trojans!

As the sun sets on another summer, we look toward tomorrow with grateful hearts.

Tomorrow morning, we gather for our traditional Senior Ring Ceremony and Opening Mass at 10:30 am.
We’ll honor our seniors as they receive their rings, welcome our students back, and pray for a wonderful year ahead.

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Mitch Hensley to the Subiaco Academy family!

Originally from Damascus, Arkansas, Mitch now lives in Conway with his wife and their two children. He holds a bachelor's degree in Leadership and Ministry Skills from Central Baptist College and a Master of Education from the University of Arkansas. He brings 10 years of retail management experience along with 12 years of experience in development.

In his own words:
"What drew me to Subiaco Academy is my Catholic faith and my desire to help advance the apostolic mission of Christ's Church. What I am most looking forward to is helping families make one of the most important decisions in their son's life and continuing the legacy of Subiaco Academy."

We are excited to welcome Mitch and his family to Subiaco. His experience, commitment to our Catholic mission, and heart for serving families will be tremendous assets as he helps introduce future students and their families to all that makes Subiaco Academy such a special place.

One Heart. Two Hands. All Together.

For the first time, Subiaco gathered for Pariter; coming together as one community before the new school year begins.

Faculty and staff of both the Abbey and Academy, along with our monks, gathered to be reminded of the deeper purpose behind all that we do at Subiaco.

The Abbot shared the mission of Subiaco: “To seek God through Christ.” From that mission flow our two ministries: hospitality and education.

One shared heart and purpose, expressed through two ministries serving God and others.

As we prepare to welcome our students back to campus, we do so together; with one heart, many hands, and a shared purpose.

Together again!

Faculty and staff are back on campus preparing for the arrival of our students. We began with Mass together, grounding our year in faith and prayer.

We also reflected on the four pillars of Subiaco Academy: Faith, Character, Scholarship, and Brotherhood; and our call to live them as examples for our students.

The day ended with a campus social hosted by Mission Advancement, a time of fellowship and reconnection.

Ready for the year ahead. 💙
