Today Mrs. Byler's students investigated like Scientists! The students worked in small groups to complete a puzzle. (Without their knowledge, one piece was removed.) Then, they were given a blank puzzle piece, and they had to sketch/draw what the missing piece looked like. The class learned how paleontologist or historians try to solve the "missing pieces" in archeological digs or throughout history by using clues.

Last week, Mrs. Thatcher’s class did a Getting-to-Know-You activity with pipe cleaners. Each color and shape represented something about the student. Once the sculptures were built students shared with others about themselves.

Third grade is learning about Michigan. Here, Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Byler’s class are making 3D representations of Michigan. Mrs. Byler’s class used the chompsaw to cut out designs. And Mrs. Miller’s class, with assistance from Mrs. Davenport’s 5th graders, used 3D Doodler pens.

This past week, Pepper, Mrs. Auble, & Mrs. King were busy kicking off the school year by visiting all 25 classrooms at Eastwood! 🎉

We introduced ourselves, shared our roles, and talked with students about the many ways The Student Services Team can support them throughout the school year.

Students also worked together in teams as they learned about who we are, what we do, the resources available to them, and different reasons they might come see us. And, of course, we talked about Pepper’s very important job! 🐾

Our goal is to make sure every student knows they have caring adults at school who are here to listen, support, and help. 💙

Eastwood Office will Reopen on Monday, August 3rd. Hours will be 7:30 to 3:30. Eastwood Open House is: Thursday, August 20th 4 pm to 6 pm. Families will receive the "Welcome Back" Packets in the mail by the 2nd week in August.
