Thank you to everyone who joined us for this year’s White Party benefiting the Sail Training Foundation!

From the stunning waterfront setting and beautiful white attire to the laughter, dancing, and incredible generosity throughout the evening, it was truly a night to remember.

Most importantly, your support helps the Sail Training Foundation continue creating opportunities for young sailors to learn, grow, and discover a lifelong love of the water. ⛵

Tomorrow evening, the waterfront will be filled with friends, laughter, music, and a sea of white—all in support of the Sail Training Foundation.

So many great pictures from last week to choose just 10 photos. So enjoy this photo drop!

Last Monday we welcomed our final session of the season!

New sailors learned all about rigging, steering, and sailing on their own, while returners worked on their roll tacks and gybes.

On Wednesday, sailors worked on their upwind sailing skills with a race to Graham park.

On Thursday, sailors practiced steering, sail trim, and coordination by creating a "conga line."

We finished out the week with a sail under the bridges and out to the bay!

As of last Friday, Session 3 was complete!

Last week, our sailors practiced downwind sailing and right-of-way rules while sailing courses and playing games. We took advantage of the big breeze on Tuesday with a sail past the bridge, and put our sailing to the test during races on Wednesday! We wrapped up the week by enjoying a sail to Otumba Beach on Thursday, and celebrated an awesome session on Friday with a sail to Graham Park.

We're so proud of how much these sailors have learned and can't wait to see them back on the water!

The Sail Training Foundation has been offering adults and kids alike affordable sailing instruction to the public for over 70 years. Thousands of local residents and visitors alike have mastered the sailing skills and learned the fundamentals of water safety and racing protocols. Sailing teaches students independence and confidence, the meaning of sportsmanship, and offers the opportunity to learn a skill for life.

At STF, we nurture both individual talent and teamwork. Students not only master the independence of solo sailing but also thrive in the camaraderie and collective learning with their peers. This balance fosters confidence, enhances decision-making skills, and creates lasting memories and friendships. Join us for a summer of gentle waves and gusts of joy, where every day is an opportunity to explore, learn, and fall in love with being on the water. Our sailors don't just learn to sail; they embark on a safe, responsible boating journey and lifelong maritime adventures. Week 1 of session 3 is in the books! ⛵️

We kicked off Monday by welcoming a new group of sailors, including our biggest Opti class of the summer with 18 boats on the water! After completing their rigging, capsize, and swim tests, everyone got some time on the water.

Tuesday was all about building confidence on the water as sailors practiced steering, tacking, and gybing around a course.

On Wednesday, sailors took the next step by learning to sail upwind and tack their way to a windward mark.

Although Friday's wildfire smoke kept us off the water, it didn't stop the fun! We spent the day learning right-of-way rules, practicing knots, creating name tags with nautical flags, and putting our engineering skills to the test with a boat-building competition. The winning boat held an impressive 89 rocks before sinking!

Meanwhile, our afternoon class continued to work on their mastery of sailing with spinnakers and trapezing.

We can't wait to see how much these sailors grow over the rest of the session!
