Sturgeon Bay High School Class of 1966

Sturgeon Bay High School Class of 1966 SBHS First school term at Sturgeon Bay in 1856 above Oliver P. GRAHAM’s store in
Sturgeon Bay taught by Mrs. James MC INTOSH. Classes were then held above A.W.

Sturgeon Bay and the community of Sevastopol shared a school district in 1862.

1866 Four schoolhouses existed in the Town of Sturgeon Bay, only one was in the village proper. That school located on the site of the 1878 high school between Michigan and Nebraska, east of Third Avenue, burned in 1869. LAWRENCE’s Store. The 1878 High School served the needs of the entire county until 1919, when Town

s of Gibraltar and Liberty Grove voted to establish one of their own. The 1878 building was replaced in 1902 after a disasterous fire. In 1908, a new schoolhouse built across the street. The school was demolished recently and as of this date, construction is taking place at that location for a new Door County Municipal Building. The current high school exists on Michigan Avenue in Sturgeon Bay along with a Middle School adjacent to that building.

The 50th class reunion is coming up this October during Sturgeon Bay's Homecoming. It will be Thursday, October 13th (an informal get together for those arriving early or living in town); October, 14th (parade, tail-gate party at Memorial Field, game-- weather permitting; get together after the game - or during); Saturday October 15th (Yacht Club for heavy hors d'oeuvres and other fun and interesting activities).
We would like as many people there as possible.....it is our 50th and we hope everybody wants to see everybody. We are all pumped for this (I know I am) and we would like to see the best turnout ever! Whether this will be your first reunion or you've been to many reunions.....come to this reunion!!

I'm home. Going to The Brick Lot for lunch at noon on Tuesday. Tuesday night, Wednesday and Thursday my cousin from Indiana (who I just met last year) and his wife will be in town. I'm free for breakfast, lunch or dinner on Friday if anyone is up for it. Give me a text or call or email.

The class reunion was awesome! And the best part was that we voted to do it again at Homecoming in 2016! And y'all better show up for that one. The people that showed up for this one had a good time! Ick
