Summer Inservice Week was a huge success at Sturgeon Bay Schools as our staff came together to prepare for another great school year.

The week kicked off with a districtwide breakfast that brought staff from across Sturgeon Bay Schools together in one place. The morning included updates from school administration, words of thanks and encouragement from members of the School Board, conversations about educational trends, and a simple shared goal: make this a great year for our students.

Throughout the week, staff participated in training and professional development covering all areas of education. Breakout sessions provided opportunities to learn, collaborate, share ideas, and continue building the skills and resources that support our students each day.

Just as importantly, staff had dedicated work time to prepare classrooms, organize learning spaces, collaborate with colleagues, and get ready to welcome students back.

A successful school year starts with people who care about the work they do and the students they serve. We are thankful for the time, energy, and preparation our staff put in this week, and we are excited for the year ahead.

We’re ready to welcome our Clippers back!

A heartfelt thank you to Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding (FBS) for an incredible show of support for students across Sturgeon Bay Schools.

Through its Back-to-School Supply Drive, FBS raised more than $2,500 and donated over 1,000 school supply items to students at Sawyer Elementary, Sunrise Elementary, T.J. Walker Middle School, and Sturgeon Bay High School.

These supplies will make their way directly into the hands of students and classrooms throughout our district, helping our students begin the school year with the tools they need to learn and succeed.

We are inspired by the generosity, unity, and effort shown by the employees of FBS and across Fincantieri Marine Group. Partnerships like this help build stronger schools and a stronger community, and remind us just how fortunate we are to have organizations and individuals who believe in supporting our students.

On behalf of Sturgeon Bay Schools, thank you to everyone who contributed to this effort and for investing in the success of our students!

Sturgeon Bay School District is incredibly proud and thankful to be a recipient of books through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Programs like the Imagination Library do something very special. They put books into the hands of children at an early age and create opportunities for families to read, learn, and grow together. Those simple moments with a book can spark curiosity, build confidence, and create a love of reading that lasts a lifetime.

With the passing of Dolly Parton, we are reminded that her legacy extends far beyond the music and entertainment that made her known around the world. Her commitment to children and literacy has touched countless families and communities, including our own here in Sturgeon Bay.

There is something especially meaningful about knowing that her work will continue every time a child opens a book, turns a page, and discovers something new. Generations of children will continue to benefit from the vision she had of making books and reading accessible to every child.

Sturgeon Bay School District is deeply grateful to be a small part of that extraordinary legacy. Thank you, Dolly, for believing in the power of a book and in the potential of every child.
