We talked about the importance of work, helping others, and all the people who make our community special. The children enjoyed creating their own red, white, and blue apples! 🍎✨

🐶 Dog Day Appliqué Project

In celebration of National Dog Day, the children created adorable dog appliqués using colorful paper and different shapes. They carefully arranged and glued each piece, adding their own creative details and giving every puppy a unique personality.

During this activity, we used four teaching approaches:

* Visual learning — observing the sample and recognizing shapes, colors, and parts of a dog.
* Verbal learning — discussing dogs, their habits, and how to care for animals.
* Hands-on learning — cutting, arranging, and gluing the pieces to develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
* Play-based learning — using imagination and creativity while designing their own special puppies.

This joyful project encouraged creativity, concentration, kindness toward animals, and a love of learning! 🐾❤️

🧇 Waffle Day Project! 🧇

Today, our little chefs had so much fun making and decorating delicious waffles! The children measured and mixed the ingredients, cracked the eggs, stirred the batter, and carefully poured it into the waffle maker with their teacher’s help.

After the waffles were ready, the children decorated them with their favorite toppings, using their creativity to make each waffle special!

This hands-on cooking activity helped them practice following directions, counting, measuring, teamwork, creativity, and fine motor skills. The best part was enjoying their beautiful homemade waffles together! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳❤️

🎳 Bowling Art Project

Today, our little artists created a colorful bowling-themed craft! The children carefully cut and glued the pieces to make bowling pins and a ball. 🥯 Bagel Cooking Class
Part of Our STEAM Program

Our young chefs had a wonderful time exploring the art of making and enjoying bagels! Dressed in their chef hats, the children practiced spreading cream cheese, followed simple directions, and proudly prepared their own delicious snack.

This fun, hands-on cooking experience supported the development of:

* Fine motor skills through spreading and serving
* Independence and self-confidence
* Following multi-step directions
* Healthy eating habits and table manners
* Social skills, including sharing, patience, and teamwork

Temporary Tattoo Day 🎨✨

Today at Valley Village Little School, our children enjoyed a fun and exciting Temporary Tattoo Day! Each child had the opportunity to choose their favorite design and watch as it magically appeared on their arm.

This simple activity offered much more than just fun. It encouraged children to:

* 🌈 make their own choices and express their unique personalities;
* 🤲 strengthen fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination;
* 💬 interact with friends, compare designs, and build social connections;
* 😊 experience joy, confidence, and a sense of belonging.

To finish the activity, everyone joined their hands together in a beautiful circle, reminding us that although every child is unique, we are all part of one caring and supportive community. ❤️

Sometimes the simplest moments create the biggest smiles and the most treasured childhood memories.

Kitten Appliqué – Reggio Emilia Inspired Activity

Today at Valley Village Little School, our young artists embarked on a creative journey by making adorable orange paper kittens.

During the activity, the children independently selected and assembled the pieces, carefully glued the eyes, nose, whiskers, and tail, shared their ideas, and talked about what made their kitten unique. Every creation reflected the child’s own imagination and personality—one of the core principles of the Reggio Emilia approach.

This activity helps children develop:

Today our little artists enjoyed a fun and creative ice cream appliqué class! 🍦✨

The children used colorful paper, glue, and their imagination to create their own sweet ice cream masterpieces. This activity helped them practice fine motor skills, color recognition, creativity, and following directions.

Everyone was so excited to design their favorite flavors and decorate their ice cream cones. A beautiful day filled with creativity, smiles, and summer fun!
