🎉 Volunteers Needed This Friday! 🎉

The Education Foundation of Martin County is looking for a few wonderful volunteers to help make our SOLD OUT Charity Mah Jongg Tournament a success this Friday, March 6 at Harbour Ridge Yacht & Country Club.

We’ll be on site starting at 7:00 AM to set up the auction and prepare for guest check-in. Players are scheduled to arrive at 9:00 AM, and we would love a few extra hands to help throughout the day with registration, auction support, and general event assistance.

The tournament will include:
🀄 Continental breakfast
🀄 All-day Mah Jongg play
🀄 A gourmet buffet lunch (yes, volunteers eat too!)
🀄 Silent auction
🀄 Cash prizes

If you can spare the day or even just a few hours, your help would be greatly appreciated. Best of all, all proceeds support students and teachers in Martin County’s public schools.

A huge THANK YOU to Jill Boudreau and her incredible Kindergarten students at Jensen Beach Elementary School for kicking off our EFMC PLAYS contest in the sweetest way possible! 💙

From building bakery treats to building strong speaking skills, these littlest learners are growing vocabulary, practicing conversation, and expressing their ideas with confidence — all through purposeful play. That’s exactly what EFMC PLAYS is all about! 💬✨

As a little surprise and thank you for sharing the PLAYS spirit, the JBE Kindergarten team will be receiving a special PLAYS addition and Mrs. Boudreau's students will each receive a book to take home! 🎁🎉

💵✨ Banking on the Future at Hidden Oaks Middle School! ✨💵

The Education Foundation of Martin County is proud to celebrate "Banking on the Future: Real-World Financial Skills," an incredible project led by Hidden Oaks Middle School’s Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Joelisa Swain! 👏🍎

Thanks to a $5,000 grant from the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations and Wells Fargo, part of a $55,000 statewide investment in financial health education, our students are gaining money skills they can carry for a lifetime. 💙

And the impact is already clear:
🗣️ One student shared, “This program helped me learn how to be mindful while spending money and showed me ways I could budget so I don't make impulsive decisions while I'm in stores. It also taught me things I can use in my future planning.”

Students are:
📊 Creating personal budgets and savings plans based on projected career goals
💼 Using real-world salary data to simulate real-life financial decisions
🎮 Strengthening skills through interactive financial literacy games focused on budgeting, saving, and needs vs. wants

And the learning doesn’t stop in the classroom! Students are getting ready for this 👇

💡INNOVATE PROJECT GRANT UPDATE: IEP Toolkits at JBE💡
🌟 Our EFMC Innovative Project Grant winners, Sarah Durgee and Hannah Licamelli, ESE Support Facilitators at Jensen Beach Elementary School, recently hosted two highly successful trainings for both instructional and non-instructional ESE staff...and the response was incredible!

Participants were fully engaged and genuinely excited to learn how to use the new IEP Toolkits to better support student needs. 🙌

All materials have now been barcoded for easy access, and thanks to the project’s overwhelmingly successful launch, EFMC has invested in even more activities and resources. This is proof of just how valuable these tools are for our students.

👏 Huge shout out to Terry and Colleen for going above and beyond to identify meaningful resources and being the first to check out materials, and to our amazing ESE paraprofessionals whose dedication ensures students receive the support they deserve every single day.
