So…why become a nonprofit? It's a fair question & an important one. Becoming a 501(c)(3) nonprofit gives Exploration Learning Center access to new funding opportunities that weren't previously available to us.

That can open doors to grants and community investments focused on:
🌱 Early childhood education
🏡 Rural childcare access
👩‍💼 Workforce development and wages
🏘️ Community infrastructure
📈 Economic development

It means we can look beyond what is possible and plan better for our growing needs.

Every person who shares our story, attends an event, makes a gift, connects us with a potential partner or simply tells a neighbor about what we're building is helping move this vision forward.
We don't expect one person or one source of funding to build the future. We believe it will take all of us.

💛 BIG NEWS for Stuart and the communities we call home!💛

Exploration & Learning Station is officially becoming a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization — called Exploration Learning CENTER — an exciting next step as we work toward expanding childcare opportunities for children and families across our region.

In the next couple of posts, you'll meet our Board of Directors who will help guide this journey alongside our great city leaders, county partners and local supporters. We'll share our vision for a brand new facility in one single location.

Why? Because our communities deserve it. Families need support. Local employers need a strong workforce. And our kids deserve places where they can learn, explore and thrive. And while a lot is changing, some things aren't:
The same caring teachers.
The same dedicated staff & director.
The same commitment to our children and families.

This next chapter is about making sure Exploration Learning Center can serve our community for years to come. We're excited to be taking the next step to enhancing our great foundation!

Slowly wrapping up our summer of school age fun, we stepped back in time with a visit to Living History Farms. Students had the opportunity to make comparisons between the 1700s, 1800s, and early 1900s living, with mixed feelings about giving up their technology for farm animals 😂

Taking young students to places that show how people lived before modern technology helps them understand history in a hands-on way. Trips such as this can spark an interest in history, engineering, and even sustainability for our future leaders!

Thanks to everyone who came to our family pool party this weekend, it just keeps getting bigger and better! It was so much fun splashing around and making memories with all of you. We're already looking forward to the next one! ☀️🏊‍♀️

Musical variety in an early childhood classroom is a must, and our two-year-olds have enjoyed learning about different instruments! Playing with music helps young children develop their language skills, coordination, and even emotional expression and offers a fun way for them to learn about rhythm, sounds, and how to move their bodies.
