GAS STATION PARKING LOT ROBBERY -- Man arrested after robbing a 66-year-old woman while she was pumping gas.

On 8/4/2022 around 1:55 p.m., a 66-year-old woman was pumping gas at a gas station near 51st and Lewis when a man, later identified as Kenneth Sanders, approached her.

The victim said Sanders started walking quickly towards her, then violently pushed her backward, grabbed her arm, then grabbed her wallet out of her hand and took off running.

Sanders was seen on surveillance video running south from the store.

On 8/8/2022, Detectives were able to track down Sanders at a nearby apartment complex. The Riverside Street Crimes unit arrested Sanders during a traffic stop.

Sanders was arrested for 1st Degree Robbery by Force or Fear AFCF (After Former Conviction of a Felony).

This is an arrest, not a conviction.
