"Each and every one of you has touched the lives of our children in a special way. Children behave as they are treated, and it's clear that ours are treated very well." - O.B. "As a mother and educator, I can really appreciate the quality of care, nurturing and guidance that Emily has received from KidsFirst during the past four years. I'm so impressed with her language skills in English and Spanish! And to think she is so competent on the computer is just terrific, you're all so great! I don't know what I'd do without you." - C.R. (Teacher, developmentally delayed children)

"Being an educator myself, I knew exactly what I was looking for in care for my daughter. I found it at KidsFirst. The staff is accepting and encouraging, not to mention dedicated! I have been thrilled with the care Danielle has gotten, and the academics are amazing." – E.

Fire Safety Month and play-based learning are a genuinely good match — and October's timing makes that even more true. Children this age learn safety skills the same way they learn everything else: through movement, imagination, and coming back to an idea more than once. This carousel walks through what that looks like inside a play-based preschool classroom. Swipe through, then read the full blog on our website for the full picture.

Did you know that telling a preschooler a safety rule once during circle time is usually not enough for it to stick? According to NAEYC's Teaching Young Children, fire safety education works best when it is embedded in concrete, hands-on experiences tied to community helpers children can already recognize. Play-based classrooms build those experiences into the whole month — through sorting activities, story time, and imaginative play — so children encounter the ideas in more than one way. Read the full blog on our website to see what that looks like week by week in October.

“It’s just a job…”

The truth is, it’s never just a job. It’s wiping tears, celebrating milestones, sharing belly laughs, and building bonds that feel like family. On the toughest days, one hug from a child reminds us exactly why we’re here.

They may not know it, but these little moments make it all worth it. 🫶🏼

One of the biggest misconceptions about early childhood education is that children are “just playing.”

The truth is? Play is the curriculum! ☀️

Every toy, activity, and learning center is intentionally designed to build skills that support academic success, independence, self-confidence, and everyday life skills.

Because learning to zip your coat, clean up after yourself, solve a problem, and work with others is just as important as learning your ABCs. ❤️

October is one of the most naturally curious months in a preschool classroom. Children are already drawn to fire trucks, gear, and the question of what firefighters actually do — which makes Fire Safety Month a genuinely good teaching window. In a play-based classroom, practicing stop, drop, and roll through movement and dramatic play gives children time to return to the skill, try it again, and make it familiar. That kind of repetition is what helps a four-year-old hold onto new information. Read the full blog on our website to see how October fire safety learning comes together in play-based classrooms.

⭐️ LEADERS BEHIND THE LEARNING ⭐️

Meet Miss Geri!

“With over 10 years of experience in childcare and an Associate of Arts degree, I have dedicated my career to nurturing and supporting children at every stage of development. I’ve had the opportunity to work with all age groups and spent two years as a center director.
Before entering childcare, I also worked with individuals with developmental disabilities, which strengthened my patience, understanding, and passion for helping others thrive.

Beyond my career, my greatest pride and joy is my family. I am a mom of four and a proud Gigi to nine amazing grandchildren and 1 on the way—they are truly the heart of everything I do. My husband and I have been together for 25 years, building a life and family that we are incredibly proud of.

At home, we are true animal lovers, caring for a lively mix of chickens, ducks, cats, a ferret, 3 dogs, and an iguana, all alongside a peaceful koi pond in our backyard. But no matter how busy life gets, what I cherish most is having my entire family together—those moments mean everything to me.”

Show Miss Geri some love in the comments ❤️✨

When your teachers are basically celebrities in the eyes of their tiniest fans 😂❤️

There’s nothing better than walking through the door and hearing those little voices yell your name! 🥹 Our teachers don’t just care for our children — they build real relationships, create bonds, and become some of their favorite people. 💕
Because when your child LOVES coming to school, you know you’re doing something right. 🥰✨

Back to School transitions can be a big change, but our students are supported by teachers who know them far beyond the walls of a single classroom. 🫶🏼

We work hard to build connections across our school so that every child feels a sense of belonging wherever they are. It has been wonderful to watch our children transition so smoothly into their new environments, forming new relationships while still being surrounded by the familiar care and encouragement they know and trust ❤️
