Play nothing is changing on the highway at Streator high school! For those of you that have been respecting the speed limits for these children. Thank you. Being out there today there’s still much that needs to be done! I PROMISE YOU YOUR CHILDREN ARE STILL IN DANGER! Including a push light! Tickets being given out! Streator to buy 2 electronic radar signs for high school crossing, splitting cost with high school board The Streator City Council and Streator High School Board are moving forward to buy two electronic radar speed signs near the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Bloomington Street, where students regularly cross.

Streator council will look at options to improve high school crossing The Streator City Council is exploring options to make Bloomington Street safer near Streator High School.

Amazing news for the city Hall meeting. Nothing set in stone but cross walks on both Park and Bloomington are being looked at. First step is a traffic study on both streets! These are the steps we needed and they are being made! People are talking and this is exactly what I pray on every single day🙌🏾 Thank you City of Streator City Hall so much for making these, much needed, steps to making these children’s commute safe!

For anyone concerned about the traffic light situation at the high school- please come and express your concerns!!

We know the truth

As we’re all coming back from Labor Day weekend and getting back into our usual flows, PLEASE let’s remember to SLOW DOWN by the high school at dismissal time!

Just 20 mins of awareness every day can keep these kids safe and alive!

That road is a highway. The last thing these children should have to worry about is someone in driving 50mph in a 20mph school zone. I encourage you to go out there yourself I promise you will not see the issues from the children. Most kids sit at that stop sign for 10 minutes just to cross because of the cars!!! Go see for yourself please before you blame the CHILDREN on a HIGHWAY.
