On Thursday, I welcomed the @ctoecgov CT Office of Early Childhood (OEC) Commissioner Elena Trueworthy and local Stratford preschool and early childhood program directors at the @sterlingcommunitycenterct The meeting was an opportunity for early childhood educators and providers to engage in a round table conversation with the OEC commissioner to discuss the status of early childhood education and care in Stratford. Thank you to all the hardworking and dedicated staff who joined us: Sterling Community Center, SUMC Preschool, Honey Bear Learning Center, Helen King Reynolds Private School, Victoria Soto Preschool, Stratford Parents' Place, Stratford YMCA - Stratford, CT and the Town of Stratford.

Stratford Parents' Place and The Early Childhood Collaborative of Stratford had the opportunity to participate in a discussion with Connecticut Office of Early Childhood Commissioner Elena Trueworthy and State Representative Kaitlyn Shake, hosted by the Sterling Community Center yesterday. This proved to be an inspiring conversation with early childhood providers and community partners about the future of early childhood and strategies to make high-quality care more affordable for families.

It is the giving season, and at HKR we have plenty of opportunities to help those in need in our community. We are collecting nonperishable food items for Sterling Food Pantry through mid-December, and we are collecting new unwrapped toys for the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign. Last month we donated a carload of coats to Bridgeport Rescue Mission. Thank you to our generous school families for their giving spirit.
