It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved former technology teacher, Sue Schellhas — a shining light in our school community. 💔

Sue’s passion for teaching and her warm, caring spirit left a lasting impact on every student, colleague, and parent who had the privilege of knowing her.

She believed in every child’s potential, brought joy and creativity to her classroom, and touched countless lives with her kindness, optimism, and beautiful soul.

Sue will be deeply missed, but her legacy lives on in all who had the honor of learning from her, working beside her, and loving her.

Rest peacefully, Sue.

Lexi (rising 8) and PJ (rising 5th)Baird had an awesome summer! They went to a Savannah Banana game and on a trip toDisney! They both also played in the hoops by the harbor basketball league and PJ played baseball for Stratford All-Stars!

We were thrilled to welcome back Bunnell High School graduates and proud St. Mark Class of 2021 alums, Bella Clericuzio and Grace Walsh! It was a special moment to see them walk the halls of St. Mark School once again!

At Monday night’s Celebration of Teacher Excellence, Bridgeport Public Schools honored more than 60 educators for their outstanding impact across the district. Megan Robertson, SMS Class of 2013, was recognized as an Outstanding New Teacher. Megan teaches 5th grade at Cesar A. Batalla School.

It’s incredibly inspiring to see our former students making a difference in their communities. We know this is just the beginning of a bright and impactful journey in teaching.

Way to go, Megan! Your St. Mark School family is cheering you on!

Heavenly Father,

We come together as a community to pray for all those affected by the devastating wildfires in California. Protect the children, families, and communities in harm’s way. Grant strength and safety to the firefighters and first responders who courageously battle the flames to save lives and homes.

Comfort those who have lost loved ones, homes, and cherished possessions. Fill their hearts with hope and provide them with the resources and support they need to rebuild.

Lord, we ask for your healing touch upon the land, for calm winds, and for rain to quench the fires. May your light guide us all in coming together to support our neighbors in their time of need.

We place our trust in your loving care and pray for peace and restoration.

In Jesus’ name, we pray.
