Excited to join Educational Resources Unlimited - Katonah, New York at YATA!

At the YATA 2026 Conference, Lauren Seltzer, LMFT (Educational Resources Unlimited) and Nichol Ernst (Summit Achievement) present C-2 Collaborative Consulting, a clinical session on engaging young adults through agency, choice, and participation while keeping treatment decisions where they belong.

Topics include:
– Maintaining healthy family-system hierarchy while engaging young adults
– Empowerment vs. control in the treatment process
– Effective collaboration between consultants, programs, and schools
– Collaborative involvement vs. anxiety-driven micromanaging
– Preventing triangulation and supporting coordinated care

The Fall Retreat tradition continues! 🍂✨🍁🎃
A huge thank you to the therapeutic consultants who spent quality, in-depth time with our team at Summit Achievement. What an incredible couple of days! What did we do?
- We explored how Summit has evolved through thoughtful presentations and meaningful connections with our leadership team.
- Toured our campus, peeked inside our student cabins, our winter wall tent, visited the dining hall, and saw daily life up close.
- Experienced student dining firsthand with incredible, delicious meals cooked by our amazing chef, Kate!
- Hit the trails for some outdoor adventure in nature, including hiking and rappelling.

We are deeply grateful for the time you took to get to know our program and team on a deeper level. Thank you for your continued partnership!

Ever feel like your 16-year-old acts more like a 12-year-old when it comes to time management or emotional regulation? You’re not imagining it. If your teenager has ADHD or ASD Level 1, you might often notice a gap between their actual age and their emotional or executive maturity.

It isn't a character flaw—it's neurodivergent brain development in teens. 🧠

Studies show that executive functioning skills like organization, task initiation, and impulse control can lag by 3 to 5 years in neurodivergent adolescents.
At Summit Achievement, we don't expect teens to "just catch up." We scaffold their growth with clinical support, academics, and adventure therapy —helping them build confidence and life skills at a pace matched to their functional brain age.

The sun is officially setting on canoe season in Maine! 🌅

The Summit team wrapped up the last canoe trip of the year this past week. While adventure is a core part of the Summit Achievement experience, it’s only one piece of the puzzle. Beyond the trails and lakes, we are a fully NEASC-accredited school providing continuous, structured academics alongside therapeutic support.

As the leaves turn, we’re ready for autumn on campus. Stay tuned to see what Fall has in store!

Our team is reaching new heights! Quite literally. Thanks, Doug Dobkowski, Academic Director, Special Educator, AND... experienced climber, for leading this Traverse group, and to our guide staff for making this a memorable moment! Our Traverse students are in school on campus 5 days a week, just like in a non-therapeutic setting-exactly what we are preparing them for!

Students love going on outdoor adventures in the beautiful mountains around Summit's campus.
