Today, four of our FFA members attended the MO FFA Food Insecurity Day at the MO State Fair. The goal was to pack 250,000 meals in celebration of America 250. By the end of the event over 252,000 meals were packed and sent out to Missouri food banks as part of the Drive to Feed Kids initiative. 1 in 5 Missouri kids are considered food insecure. Proud of these young ladies for participating in this event!

MO FFA HYMAX Academy

Zane Witte spent the weekend at Camp Rising Sun with 99 other FFA members from across the state. These future sophomores and leaders spent their time networking with other members, expanding their public speaking skills, touring local ag businesses and Ag Ed programs, and learning how to become advocates for agriculture. Each group created a presentation on current ag issues and presented their issues pros and cons through skits. The weather was damp but the future of agriculture is bright with these young AGvocates.

On Friday, members of the Stover FFA Officer Team attended the LEAD Conference at SFCC. They learned team building skills, attended breakout sessions, networked with other chapter officers in our District, and got lots of ideas for the coming year. The LEAD Conference is facilitated by past State FFA Officers and is a great leadership experience.

On Tuesday, the FFA and FCCLA traveled to the Main Event in Independence for the Top Members Trip. They had a great time bowling, playing laser tag, in the arcade, and eating pizza.

Last plant sale of the year! We’re here until 5:30 today and still have a good selection of hanging baskets, bedding plants, house plants, and vegetables. We hope to see you there!
