Today was the final day of our season. What started 90 days ago has come to an end until next August. It was such a great day to be a Bulldog!!!

Racing at the State Meet is such a huge honor and accomplishment!! This year, we had 8 runners competing in the state meet!! History was made last week when the Stover Boys Team took 4th place at Districts to advance to State as a team. History was made when 5 individuals (4 boys and 1 girl) made it to state as well!!

Class 2 was packed with some very talented runners and the competition was fierce!! Everyone of our runners laid everything they had out on the course and gave their all today. We could not be any more proud of them and the way they finished this season!! We had 4 new PR’s and a season PR!!

Congratulations to the boys team and Gabby Sidebottom for having an amazing race today and for representing Stover so well!! We are incredibly proud of you and all that you accomplished!!

Here are the times of all our runners today:
Lason Thompson- 18:20.06 Career PR!!!

Today was a great day to be a Bulldog!! We had 5 individuals medal so they will move on to the State XC Meet next weekend and the Boys Team finished 4th as a team so they will move on and compete as a team as well!!

This morning the HS XC teams raced in the Class 2 District 4 meet in Platte City at Platte Ridge Park. The start of the race was chilly and the course was very challenging with a huge hill at the start of the race and another one in the middle with several switchbacks in the second half of the course with a slight uphill to the finish line.

Everyone gave everything they had on the course and we could not be more proud of all the runners!!! Cross country is not easy and it’s not a glamorous sport but it is so rewarding and all of our kids are absolute rock stars for stepping up to the line each week and giving their all when it’s hot, cold, wet, dry, flat, hilly and everything in between. Giving up has never been an option for them and that’s what makes them so special!!

Congratulations to the following for medaling and moving on to the State Meet next week:

Lason Thompson- 19th 18:35.92 This is a career PR!!
Dylan Brodersen- 25th 18:52.03
Kashawn Martin- 27th 18:58.28
Gabe Baker- 30th 19:00.18 This is a career PR!!

Today was another great day for the XC teams!! This morning the XC teams raced in the Brian T. Simpson Invitational at Gans Creek in Columbia, MO. Gans Creek is the state course as well as MIZZOU’s home course and it will host the NCAA Championships this year! It was great that we got to run on this course together once again this year prior to the state meet. Because of the recent rain and in an effort to preserve the course for the upcoming State Meets and NCAA Championships there were cones on the course that all the kids had to go around making the 5K course a tad bit longer than normal. That did not stop all the kids from having a great race and we could not be any more proud of them for their performances today!! A few new career PR’s and season PR’s were set today as well!

Congratulations to Dylan Brodersen for medaling and getting 22nd place with a time of 18:20.87. This is a career PR for Dylan!!

Yesterday the HS and JH teams competed in the Mark Sabala “Dam” Cross Country Invitational. This is my favorite meet of the year and our kids always do well at the meet. The course starts with them running across a field toward the side of the dam that they have to run up. It’s a site to see 100’s of runners running up the huge hill. The weather was beautiful for the High Schools races. It warmed up a bit for the Junior High races but it wasn’t too bad.

We had a great day with some career PR’s, season PR’s and we brought home some medals!! This was a big school/small school race and we are class 2 so we are in the small school category. The High School boys team got 3rd place; top 2 teams got plaques so we missed it by ine spot but we could not be more proud of them as that is huge achievement!! Top 20 individuals in all races got medals.
