Class of 72

Story City held an official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Norsemen statue at the Roland-Story football /track stadium during opening ceremonies for Scandinavian Days on June 6.

The Class of 72 donated $500 toward the funding of the statue and our name will be on the plaque of donors.

A huge thank you to Karen Hermanson for her work representing our class and coordinating this effort to make the donation deadline.

If at anytime you would like to make a donation to the class fund to support our sending of flowers to classmates families (at the notice of a funeral) or for an opportunity to support the RS schools (such as this project), you may send a check to:

The first event of our 50th reunion is finally here! An informal gathering at Diane (Mathre) Larson's house -1420 Jacobson Drive in Story City. 5:00 - 9:00 p.m.. Several former teachers have indicated they will be attending....maybe to see how we all turned out? Please stop by and sit a spell. We are celebrating the last weekend of summer of 2022 among other things. (photo from last reunion)

Saturday morning golfers:
Please arrive at the golf course between 9:15 and 9:45 a.m. for the 10 a.m. shotgun start. You need to pay your greens fees and have your golf clubs loaded on your cart by the 10 a.m. start time. If you need to rent clubs, you should arrange that with the course ahead of time.
We will have morning snacks, coffee, and juice. Bring cash for greens fees ($20) and for any beverages you want to buy at the clubhouse for your round. There will not be a beverage cart on the course. Eric Nelson will send us off to our assigned tees off with a rousing “charge.”
We will have an after-round party with light snacks and cash bar to celebrate our great and not-so-great rounds and hand out "prizes." We will ask you to keep score to determine the prizewinners, but you don’t have to show your card to anyone if you don’t want to!
Teams are set as follows:
· Steve Phillips, Doug Doolittle, Rick Hilker and Curt Olive
· Vicki and Joe Grandgeorge, and Janet and Jerry Handsaker
· Colleen Dietz and Gwen Luloff, and Mark and Matthew Olson
· Bill Johnson, Dave Tressler, Steve and Shelley Tungesvick
· Marj Charlier and Ben Miller and any late-comers
We still have room for two more (late-comers), so let us know at the party Friday night if you want to join us. (Or email/message me.)
If you aren't playing golf, you can still join us for the after party at the clubhouse. Bring cash for any alcoholic drinks. We'll be done sometime between 11:15 and 12, depending on how many balls we lose or put in the water!
