Congratulations to our elementary for raising $538 in our quarter drive for our Character Counts! week. All of that money was donated to the Angel Tree program. Pictured is our Council with Alyssa Loots, Angel Tree Coordinator.

We love having you, Ms. Bentz!

Have you noticed some new faces around the Roland-Story schools this fall? We’re pleased to introduce the staff members who’ve recently come on board.

Meet Kayla Bentz, a new 2nd grade teacher at Roland-Story Elementary. Kayla is originally from Pella, and spent the last four years teaching 2nd grade in Muscatine. She’s excited to be working in the district thanks to the support the schools receive from the community.

This year, the 2nd graders are learning about a different country each week, enjoying related activities and stories and learning about geography. “At the end of the year, we’ll take all of our knowledge that we learned about each country and do a special project,” she says.

Kayla has a red betta fish, who will occasionally make an appearance in her classroom. In her free time, she enjoys trying new recipes, reading, and embroidering. We’re thrilled to welcome Kayla to the Norsemen team!
