Preschoolers discovered a hawk nest in one of our Oak trees on the playground! This hawk has visited us many times this year and each time is an amazing sight to see! Preschoolers learn lessons about how birds live, predator vs. prey, boundaries with wild animals and it sparks questions for young learners about their natural world! We are so lucky!!! 🦅

The Child Labs participated in Mansfield’s Early Childhood Fair this past Saturday! It was hosted by ! We saw many families and had wonderful weather for a day celebrating early childhood and supporting our community members!

And that’s a wrap on the Spring semester and also the 2025-2026 school year for our college students who make a huge difference in the lives of our littlest huskies! The children and teachers will miss you all! We wish our graduates the best in your future endeavors 💙 Thank you for all you guys do! - The CDL Team.

We are so lucky to have an awesome custodian at the Child Labs. Josue Zapata from the UConn custodial operations department taught a lesson about how important his job is, what to recycle and how tools are used to Preschoolers this morning 💙 He even gave them goodie bags for them to take home! We are so lucky!

The Maple Room visited building today! The Toddlers practiced “purchasing” toys with money and got to explore the lab! Thank you for inviting us to the event and making it a day to remember! We love our UConn community!

Thank you to for providing professional development to the CDL staff. They had a blast learning about inclusive language use with young children as they explore nature and collaborative activities.

Preschool took a walk to the Fine Arts Building to explore the art show Before The Rules: Process and Practice! They loved exploring the exhibit, finding pictures of themselves and exploring other areas and exhibits in the building 🎨 💙
