Congratulations to The Energy Electors – POLS majors Aliyah Aquino (‘27), Grace DiTunno (‘28), Quinn Geier (‘28), and William Jeong (‘29)! On June 6th, UConn’s School of Public Policy held their first annual undergraduate case competition. Teams from UConn, Quinnipiac University, and Siena University were presented with a case on the housing and rent affordability crisis and tasked with writing a memo of their recommendations. In addition, they created SWOT analysis presentations to critique their recommendations and presented them to a panel of judges from local Connecticut governments. The Energy Electors came home with the win!

Since April marks Genocide Awareness and Prevention Month. The Human Rights Institute is hosting Kristina Hook, Ph.D., of Kennesaw State University, to lead a public lecture that will take place this Thursday, April 23 at 4:00 pm ET in the Konover Auditorium.
Dr. Hook’s work engages important questions of civilian insight and recognition in times of mass violence, with particular insight on the war in Ukraine.
We’d love to gather a significant audience of students, faculty, and community members for her lecture this Thursday evening.
