This past year UConn 4-H engaged over 29,000 4-H youth from nearly every corner of our State.

Current UConn 4-H members, ages 5-18 as of October 1, 2026, are invited to design a holiday card for UConn 4-H. One design will be used for a holiday card to be sent to 4-H supporters to express our gratitude and well wishes. The first-place winner will receive a prize package from UConn 4-H and will be credited on the card.

For four days, teens from all over the country come to D.C. to collaborate, connect, and cultivate a passion for expanding their minds and their world - Teens will immerse themselves in hands-on workshops, experiences, activities in their key programming track of AgriScience, Animal Science, Community Accelerators, Healthy Living (featuring soccer), or STEM to continue to find their spark.

Connecticut—and the nation—need a skilled, science‑literate workforce. UConn Extension is helping meet that need by giving young people hands‑on STEM experiences through UConn 4‑H. Youth across the state are exploring fields like biotechnology while building confidence, curiosity, and life skills that prepare them for future STEM careers.

It’s that time of year for youth to apply for our National 4-H trip opportunities which include Ignite by 4-H and National 4-H Conference. All applications are due by September 1st, 2026, contact your County educator for more information and we hope to see your application!

4-H program leaders and volunteer specialists from across the Northeast came to Connecticut this past week for their summer conference. Leaders left Connecticut with new ideas, stronger professional networks, and a shared commitment to helping young people become Beyond Ready for whatever opportunities lie ahead.

Exhibitors had a fantastic time at the annual State Horse show held at the Tolland Agricultural Center this past weekend. From competitions to costume classes this event is a great way for 4-H horse project members to exhibit their animals.
