The Athletic Training Education Program at Buena Vista University undertakes the responsibility of offering the student a sound, multi-disciplinary foundation that encourages the student to reflect on material critically, express ideas fluently and conduct themselves professionally. BVU is dedicated to offering the student enrolled in the Athletic Training Education Program academic curricula and
clinical experiences that will aid each student in preparation for the Board of Certification's certification examination and achieve entry level employment as a Certified Athletic Trainer in the setting of their choice. The purpose of the clinical Athletic Training Department is to provide high quality health care to its student-athletes as well as model and provide high quality experiences to the Athletic Training Education Program. The Athletic Training Staff will strive to do this by encompassing various domains including injury prevention and recognition, management of injury, treatment, rehabilitation, education, and professional development. This enables student-athletes to maintain a quality of life during their collegiate career and beyond athletic competition. The Athletic Training staff will work in conjunction with team physicians, coaches, and athletic administration by being innovative, utilizing the latest techniques and current research topics, and endeavoring to have high quality equipment and facilities; all to provide a quality level of care for student-athletes at Buena Vista University.
