Dr. Somohano-Marquez is a board certified prosthodontist with a Maxillofacial Prosthetics certificate. She was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where she obtained her DMD degree. Dr Somohano completed two years of General Practice Residency in Bronx Lebanon Hospital, serving as Chief Resident during her last year. She continued on training at NYU, where she obtained her certificate in the Advanced

Specialty Education Program in Prosthodontics and during her 3rd year served as Chief Resident. For her Maxillofacial Prosthetics training, Dr. Somohano moved to Los Angeles, California and completed a one year fellowship at UCLA as well as successfully challenging the boards for the American Board of Prosthodontists. Dr. Somohano is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at Stony Brook University, School of Dental Medicine, where she is also the Program Director for the Prosthodontics Residency Program. She holds a Hospital Appointment at Stony Brook University Hospital, working in the interdisciplinary care of Head and Neck Cancer and Craniofacial Deformities clinics.
