We are excited to welcome Assistant Professor Yun Tao to the Department of Ecology and Evolution this fall! 🌿

Dr. Tao has been named one of Stony Brook University’s inaugural Simons Empire Faculty Fellows, a fellowship established by the Simons Foundation and Simons Foundation International to support outstanding tenure-track faculty in the basic sciences across SUNY University Centers.

His research on organismal behavior will bring exciting new perspectives to our department’s work in ecological dynamics and behavioral science.

Dr. Padilla shared her expertise in a radio story exploring the important role mussels play in improving water quality in Newtown Creek. Her research continues to highlight the vital contributions of aquatic ecosystems to healthier urban environments.
