Pine Point School is a dynamic collaboration of our exceptional faculty and staff, students, parents, alumni and the greater community. From the earliest stages of learning, we cultivate meaningful social and emotional growth, and provide a rich, rigorous, and personalized college-preparatory environment. Arts, athletics, service learning, and technology are integral components of our developmenta

By providing a safe and supportive environment, we inspire confidence and develop self-esteem. We encourage our students to welcome challenges, learn from their mistakes, and apply what they learn to improve their world.

Math, mechanics, and mentorship! Our 2nd graders have worked incredibly hard designing and creating their very own math board games—putting their skills, creativity, and problem-solving to the test.
Today, the project came to life as they invited our 1st graders into the classroom to test out their creations! The room was buzzing with math challenges, teamwork, and fun. Seeing our older students proudly guide their younger peers is a beautiful reflection of the collaborative learning and leadership that happens everyday on Barnes Road.
The best part? The 1st graders are already bursting with ideas and looking forward to designing their own games next year!
Join us in celebrating the strong minds and creative spirits of our lower school mathematicians! 💚💛

Small hands, big impact! 🌸🐝Our Pollinator Plant Sale was a blooming success, raising an amazing $520!
Throughout this project, our young "Pollinator Protectors" have been getting their hands dirty—planting flowers, herbs, and vegetables while diving deep into the importance of protecting our pollinators and preserving their natural habitats.
This integrated learning project goes far beyond the classroom: the proceeds will be used to enhance our very own campus pollinator garden and grow plants for our neighbors at the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center.
A massive thank you to our incredible community partners who donated resources to make this happen: 🌱 for the nutrient-rich soil! 🌸 The Ducharme Family & for the planting resources and flower donations!
Thank you to everyone who bought a plant and supported our 3rd graders as they learn to protect, grow, and flourish! 💚💛

Word of the Week: BECOMING 🌱✨
With just two weeks left of school, our minds are naturally turning toward transitions. Each of us is growing, changing, and constantly becoming.
As our students prepare to step into new grades, face unfamiliar environments, and take on new challenges, our Head of School shared three ideas to anchor us during this transition:
1️⃣ Notice your progress: Take a moment to look back and celebrate how far you’ve come, little by little, over the course of this year. 2️⃣ Honor your emotions: It is completely normal to feel a mix of excitement and nervousness right now. Acknowledge them both! 3️⃣ Take the next bold step: Be willing to leap into the future, building on everything you’ve learned and how you’ve grown.
Pine Point, who are you becoming next? 💚
Photo caption: A beautiful look at who we are becoming! Our Kindergarten and second-grade artists are working on self-portraits that celebrate their unique personalities and show just how far they’ve come this year. 🖌️❤️

Word of the Week: STEADY 🗓️❤️If your family calendar feels like it's bursting at the seams right now, you are not alone! Welcome to the "100 days of May"—a time of incredible celebration, year-end projects, and plenty of excitement across all grade levels.
To navigate the hustle and bustle, our community is focusing on the word STEADY. Moving forward with consistency and patience allows our students to thrive rather than just "get through" the month. Whether it’s staying steady in our academic efforts, remaining a reliable and inclusive friend, or showing up for each other as a community, small daily efforts keep us grounded. Let’s finish the year strong, purposeful, and steady!
Photo Caption: Grade 1 went on a "sound walk" in music class, hunting for ta and ti-ti sounds (quarter and paired eighth notes) hidden in nature. After listening closely to the world around them, our young musicians put pencil to paper and successfully wrote out the rhythms they discovered on campus! 🍃🎶

Your dreams have unlimited worth. 🎙️✨We concluded our 9th-grade speech series this week with a powerful reminder of the potential within us all. Standing at the Mitchell Building podium for the final time, our speaker shared a message of empowerment and connection.
“Don’t ever think you can’t be greater than you are,” he shared, “and always feel and know that you and your dreams have unlimited worth.”
Beyond individual ambition, he reflected on the beauty of the Pine Point community—how making friends and growing together allows us to recognize not only our own contributions but the immense worth and contributions of others. It was a beautiful final tribute to the caring hearts that define our graduating class.
Congratulations to all of our 9th graders for completing this milestone tradition with such courage, vulnerability, and grace! 💚💛

The results are in from the State Finals! 🏆Following their success at Regionals earlier this spring, two of our 8th-grade historians took their research to the next level at the Connecticut History Day state competition. In what was the most competitive field to date, our students truly shined! We are thrilled to share that for the fifth consecutive year, a Pine Pointer has placed in the top three in the state. A massive congratulations to our 3rd-place finisher for her monologue, “Billie Jean King’s Revolutionary Match,” and to our student who very nearly placed for her embodiment of Mercy Otis Warren.
These achievements are a testament to the academic grit of our 8th graders. From staying after sports practices to refining their monologues and deepening their research, these students proved that excellence is a journey of constant revision and dedication.
Please join us in celebrating the hard work and resilience of these history makers! 💚💛
