I received my Masters of Education in Reading from James Madison University in Virginia where I worked as a first grade teacher and Reading Specialist for 8 years total before moving to Stoneham in 2019. Grounded in the science of reading, I cultivate each lesson to meet the needs of my students and to equip them with the strategies they need to be successful readers. When working with me, each student will be met with:
*warmth and compassion
*encouragement
*a safe environment to take risks and make mistakes
*efficient and effective feedback
*practical guidance for improvement
I take a holistic approach to education, incorporating the practice of growth-mindset and developing self-efficacy while teaching foundational skills. I’m personally committed to growth through involving myself in educator communities and reading the latest research on the best and most beneficial practices. Most of all, I love kids!
