I have been teaching Saxophone, Clarinet & Flute to all levels of students for almost 30 years. Teaching is my passion and my mission is to guide and mentor my students as they walk the path of exploring their own personal musical experience. Music is a language and playing an instrument is a uniquely physical & mental art. It is the blending of these two aspects of mind & body that make my approa
ch unique, fun and effective. There is a very good reason we all call it “playing” music. It should be fun like “play” to any child or adult! Over the years I have developed an approach that pulls on the strengths of what my students inherently know, and give them points of reference removes perceived barriers in the learning process. I provide every one of my students a unique educational experience (online or in person) that is specifically crafted to meet their needs and to enhance their experience. I do emphasize core music studies to build a solid foundation of musical skills for all of my students so they are not just learning an instrument but also learning all aspects of understanding the language of music. From there, I strive to integrate those skills into the many facets of music such as performance, composition, as well as exploring the vast creative music technology available today.
