3 qualifiers and an alternate! They did it!!! At our state qualifying district tournament today at Moon High School, we took 8 kids to show off their talents and see if they could land a sacred spot. A big congrats to the following students for their incredible rankings:

Katrina McCullough- 2nd in Congress
Emma Friters- 2nd in Humorous Interpretation
Hannah Cameron- 2nd in Dramatic Performance
Evalynn Mullen- 3rd (alternate) in Poetry

We also have an opportunity to take a few extra students in some special categories, so we will be sending Grace Gander and Evalynn Mullen to be a News Broadcasting Duo, as well as Montana Adams in Impromptu.

Congrats to the team, coaches, and all of our supporters along the way. We want our kids to focus on the upcoming musical this week,( ) then we'll be back at practice to get ready to head to Bloomsburg University March 19-21.

Our regular season came to a conclusion tonight at Meadville. With a little caffeine help, the Sailors ended the tournament well!

Emma Friters and Hannah Cameron- 3rd place tie in Dramatic Performance
Evalyn Mullen- 1st place tie in Oral Interpretation.

We say goodbye to our middle schoolers tonight, as we turn our focus to next Saturday, when we will be taking 8 high schoolers to compete in the District Qualifier for the State Competition in March.

Tomorrow is the day! ☕️🍪🍰Join our team tomorrow (Tuesday) at 5 P.M. in the middle school cafeteria to see our entire team perform their pieces. This will allow you to see what our students have been working on all season, or if you're interested in Speech but don't know much about it, this allows you to see a variety of categories and just what our kids do from October through March. Can't wait to see all of our family, friends, and supporters!

We certainly aren't "Saturday tournament people", but we always enjoy going to support our friends at the Mercer tournament. Our Duo team (Rachel and Karissa Hoovler) ended up with a 7th place finish. We had great competition from schools all over and we're lucky to take away lessons and new experiences.
