In this time of confusion and uncertainty sometimes it’s easy to self preserve self contain and think about self and immediate loved ones but please try to remember their are some children, teenagers, and young adults that this quarantine is even more of a nightmare. School, Sports and extra curricular activities were their escape from their abusers or one of their parents abusers. The added crunch of lack of funds not knowing where resources are going to come from are triggers in already unstable homes. Abusers can and will use the quarantine to further isolate those that they abuse. They may shift the abuse from the adult to children or the children may see way more now because of isolation. Please try to check text check phone call video chat even send an e card to friends and even family because we never know what’s going on behind closed locked doors especially during this time. Articles have already been published that child abuse and domestic violence cases have already started rising. Please don’t turn a blind ear or eye. A soft word can turn away wrath. A kind gesture can save someone’s life and or emotional health during these times and can carry them through this storm.
