As an elementary school student, he loved reading but rarely saw himself reflected in the characters, so he developed the Books N Brows book club at just ten years old. Now at 17, he's written his first book full of inclusive recommendations for other Black boys.

So many great book choices for the little ones in your life. Studies show that when “kids read books that reflect their ethnicity, it increases self-esteem and self-confidence.” This is one of the poignant reasons we’ve been shouting from the rooftops 👏🏾for 👏🏾years, that reading is a revolutionary act. When you change how our little ones see themselves and their ability to accomplish whatever their mind envisions, we shift the game and trajectory of their journey. Consider a glorious book for them and spark their love of reading, self-confidence and imagination.

Hope everyone is enjoying ready for back to school! I always remember picking out my reading lists with my dad and him letting me get a few extras as well. What are some of your memories of getting ready for school?
