Ada's Book Basket Reading Club is a reading program that is designed to promote and stimulate creativity and develop in young children a lifelong love for reading. Young children who are just beginning to read need to be able to experience measured success early. Our phonics storybook series provide children with the opportunity and desire for reading success. We teach children in grades Pre-K-6th, working on their current reading skill level.

Meet The 17-Year-Old Author Of ‘Books N Bros: 44 Inspiring Books For Black Boys’ As an elementary school student, he loved reading but rarely saw himself reflected in the characters, so he developed the Books N Brows book club at just ten years old. Now at 17, he's written his first book full of inclusive recommendations for other Black boys.

3 things you can do on Indigenous Peoples Day:

1) learn about the people whose land you live on today
2) teach your children (and yourself if need be) the truth about Christopher Columbus
3) financially support Native American services, businesses and products (https://www.jokuma.com)
4) learn something you didn’t know (read, research, ask)

So many great book choices for the little ones in your life. Studies show that when “kids read books that reflect their ethnicity, it increases self-esteem and self-confidence.” This is one of the poignant reasons we’ve been shouting from the rooftops 👏🏾for 👏🏾years, that reading is a revolutionary act. When you change how our little ones see themselves and their ability to accomplish whatever their mind envisions, we shift the game and trajectory of their journey. Consider a glorious book for them and spark their love of reading, self-confidence and imagination.
