University of the Pacific is proud to present LaRussell, an independent hip-hop artist and entrepreneur, as a featured speaker for its 2023 Black History Month Celebration. LaRussell will be appearing in the Ballroom at the DeRosa University Center on February 10, 2023, 7:00 p.m. The lecture is free, but seating is limited.

LaRussell’s musical journey began as a child writing raps with his older sister to spending most of his time in high school writing, making beats and battle rapping. He grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area (Vallejo) with early influences of Funk, Jazz, Soul, R & B and Hip-Hop. LaRussell began gaining more notoriety on social media and around his hometown after releasing his debut project, “The Field Effect”.As his career has grown exponentially in the past year, he created the independent collective and production company “Good Compenny”, which aids other independent artists in successfully launching their careers. After LaRussell’s “2021 Freestyle” on Good Compenny went viral last year, the rest of the world noticed his unique sound. LaRussell creates art with vivid storytelling comparable to a 2 Pac, Nas or J. Cole.

LaRussell will be appearing at DeRosa University Center on February 10, 7:00 p.m. For more information about the 2023 Black History Month Celebration, call 209-946-2899 or visit go.pacific.edu/blackhistory.
