We are thrilled to introduce another author joining us for Family Day on September 19!

Sheila Ruiz is a children’s book author with four published books. She has been writing most of her life, inspired by the joy and imagination that grew after she became a parent. After retiring in January 2023, Sheila began writing full time, bringing her stories to life with heart, humor, and creativity. She lives with her beautiful white cat, Rosie, who happily keeps her company during every writing session.

Judy Kozina is a Lodi mom, teacher, and author. She has written Mean Old Mel, All the Cool Snowmen, and The Reindeer Rundown with Donner and Blitzen. Her stories celebrate friendship, promote positivity, and capture the magic of being a kid. “I want to be a part of creating those meaningful stories that leave a lasting impression, and to also show my daughter that ideas and dreams can become a reality.”

Judy will be reading in King Authors Court at Family Day on September 19! We’re excited to welcome her and share her stories with local families.

The Record's Literacy and Book Fair - Family Day at the Park is held yearly and takes place at Weber Point in Stockton.

We’re excited to welcome local author Michael Foster to this year’s Family Day! Michael is a local author who was born and raised in Stockton, CA. He recently completed his first YA series, The Wild Side Trilogy, which is a light fantasy series based in the forests of Idaho where as a child, he spent many summers with his family.
