Welcome Day was special welcoming back 500+ athletes and our 2026 Mustangs!

We are excited to get started on the 2026 season! The road ahead will take hard work and a growth mindset to reload with 16 newcomers to the program.

Our Delta Athletic Department put on a show, handing out gear, raffle prizes, and feeding our athletes. There was so much to celebrate, including the success of our women’s athletic teams!

Our Women’s Basketball team was honored for winning the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP last spring! 🏆🏆🏆

Even more exciting, our women’s sports programs ranked #1 in Northern California overall and #3 in the state!

So much to be proud of and so much to look forward to!

Congratulations to our 2026 graduate and now Alumni Aliya Tipton for committing to University of Providence to pursue her Nursing degree and play basketball on the Argos team. She will start in the nursing program in the fall with the plan of completing her nursing degree in two years.

Aliya is the definition of perseverance and resilience. She put in countless hours preparing for her sophomore season, only to face a significant injury in November that impacted much of her year. Through determination, grit, and an unwavering work ethic, she fought her way back to the court to rejoin her Mustang family.

Aliya will forever be part of a legacy team that captured a California State Championship, with a permanent gold banner hanging proudly in Blanchard Gym as a reminder of what this team accomplished together.

A heartfelt thank you to the entire Tipton family, her parents, teammates, friends, and coaches who came out to celebrate and support Aliya after the two incredible years she dedicated to the Delta Women’s Basketball program.

You have left a lasting impact on our program, AT. You will always be a Mustang, and you will be greatly missed. 🖤💛

Congratulations to Marcelina Chaparro on her commitment to attend California State University, Stanislaus to continue her education in health sciences, and play intercollegiate basketball.

Surrounded by family, teammates, and friends, we celebrated Marci’s journey over the past two years. Her hard work, leadership, and positive attitude were just a few reasons why she was honored with the most valuable teammate award.

Best of luck to you #4! Your legacy of being a California STATE champion will live on forever. You will be missed 🖤💛

Congratulations to our sophomore guard Aliya Tipton on her commitment to continue her basketball career and pursue her dream of earning a Nursing degree at the University of Providence! 💙🏀

Aliya earned Academic All-State honors by maintaining an outstanding 3.90 GPA. She also completed multiple associate degrees during her time at Delta, beginning her college academic journey while still in high school.

Known to her teammates as “AT,” Aliya’s perseverance has defined her career. She dedicated herself to improving during the offseason and refused to let a November injury keep her from her goals. Through determination and hard work, she rehabilitated as quickly as possible to help lead her team through conference play and into the 3C2A Elite Eight.

Aliya is a true champion on and off the court. She will forever be a part of Delta College history as a member of our 2026 3C2A State Championship team. We are incredibly proud of everything you have accomplished and can’t wait to see what the future holds.
Keep working hard, continue chasing your dreams, and always strive to be the best version of yourself.

Congratulations to our sophomore Point Guard Marcelina Chaparro for committing to play basketball and continue her education this fall at Stanislaus State University.

To all family, friends, teammates, and coaches you are invited to attend the celebration of Marci’s commitment on Thursday, July 23 at 6 PM at Delta College in the Zone Study Center.

Marci was a huge factor down the stretch and helping elevate the Mustangs to a California State Championship. Her five charges taken during the 3C2A 3-day State tournament and her ability to hit shots down the stretch were key factors to our success as a team.

Best of luck to you, #4! We will miss you and will always talk about the legacy you and your teammates built. Best of luck to you.

Lilly will graduate this spring before continuing her academic and athletic journey at San Joaquin Delta College this fall, where she plans to pursue an A.S. degree in Criminal Justice.

A natural leader on the court, Lilly brings intensity, competitiveness, and a strong scoring presence to our young Delta squad. As we continue building for 2026 with only two returning players, we’re excited about the future and what Lilly will add to our program ✨

It’s that time of year again! Come join our Annual Delta College basketball and sports camp for kids. Boys and girls ages 5–13 are welcome to join us in June. We will be playing basketball, flag football, soccer, games and swim!
